Risks & Benefits

There are many benefits to therapy. These can include, but are not limited to: more satisfaction in your relationships; greater self-awareness; the ability to make changes that align with your values; learning practical coping skills.

Therapy can also bring on feelings of sadness, anger and guilt. This is common and can reflect the changes that occur in therapy. In time, people tend to experience greater well-being. There are no set timelines. For instance, some people engage in brief therapy while others prefer a longer term approach.
